Breakfast: The Benefits are Tremendous
Numerous studies have proven that breakfast consumption is an important factor in the nutritional well being of children, adolescents and young adults. The long-term benefits include contributions to optimal physical growth and cognitive development, yet only a small percentage of children eat breakfast daily.
One study from the Kellogg's Nutrition University suggests that students who consistently eat school breakfast received higher grades, were less likely to be described as depressed, anxious or hyperactive by teachers and improved their school attendance and punctuality.
MISD Student Nutrition is committed to serving a quality, healthy and nutritious start to the day at all campuses. Breakfast is the most important meal of every day.
