Guidance & Counseling :: Dual Credit
MANSFIELD ISD & TARRANT COUNTY COLLEGE (TCC)
Dual Credit/Early High School Enrollment
GENERAL INFORMATION
Mansfield Independent School District, in conjunction with the Tarrant County College Southeast Campus, offers several courses for dual credit to MISD juniors and seniors.
Students will receive high school and college credit for TCC courses taken and passed through the MISD. To receive weighted credit for TCC courses, students must be enrolled in the course, receive a passing grade in the course, and take the corresponding College Board AP exam in May (See the Pre-AP and College Board AP section of the MISD High School Course Description Guide or visit www.collegeboard.com for exam dates and information).
All rules and regulations of the MISD apply in conjunction with these courses. These include but are not limited to absences, grades, and UIL eligibility. Since the student is being given early enrollment at TCC for these courses, the student must be enrolled in a MISD high school throughout the course, or he/she will be dropped from TCC. MISD students must have the following to be enrolled in TCC courses: 80+ overall grade average, a minimum of 12 credits, and the THEA/Accuplacer.
Students will attend TCC classes on the Ben Barber Career Tech Academy campus. MISD provides bus shuttle service to TCC classes taught on the Ben Barber Career Tech Academy campus. Students will be expected to pay $50 per course/per semester and applicable fees.* Once the appropriate early high school enrollment paperwork has been distributed by the MISD high schools, it is the responsibility of the student to apply for early enrollment and register for courses.
*Financial assistance is available to those who qualify. Please see your high school counselor for details.
