Facilities & Operations :: Grounds Maintenance
MISD has over 715 acres of campuses that must be maintained. Grounds maintenance crews perform all district specified landscaping duties including: planting, mowing, trimming, fertilizing, and athletic field maintenance.
Self-help projects desired by a site must first be approved by the Director of Facilities and Operations or the Director of Maintenance. Once approved and installed, the on-going maintenance of the project will be the responsibility of the group installing the improvement. If a project is not maintained or is abandoned, Facilities Maintenance will restore the area to blend in with the surrounding landscaping.
Cleaning and repair of districts roadways, walks, and parking lots, game line painting, and removing of storm drain debris are also provided by the grounds crews of Facilities Maintenance.
Operation of vehicles on the districts lawns and walkways is not permitted.
If you have a question about grounds maintenance, contact the Facilities Maintenance Grounds Supervisor.
