The Mansfield ISD will shut down all district operations from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in honor of Vernon Newsom who died last week in a motorcycle accident.
All District services, offices, and administrative operations will be closed for a four-hour window to allow staff who wish to attend funeral services for Mr. Newsom.
Visitation & Funeral Services for Mr. Newsom
The visitation will be held on Monday, July 27 at 6:00 p.m.
at First Baptist Church in Mansfield
1800 E Broad St., Mansfield, TX 76063
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 28 at 11:00 a.m.

 MISD will provide satellite parking and shuttle service for the funeral from the Mansfield High School parking lot.
Memorials
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a scholarship fund for Mr. Newsom's granddaughters. For those that knew Mr. Newsom, his granddaughters were the light of his life and this is a great tribute to his love for them.
