A recent graduate of Mansfield Legacy High School, Kegan Eastham, had one of his drawings selected into the traveling AP® Studio Art Exhibit.
The 2009-10 AP® Studio Art Exhibit is an annual project of The College Board and consists of 30 artworks. The 30 pieces being featured in this year's exhibit were selected from from over 35,000 AP® Studio Art portfolios submitted in spring 2009 by an elite group of high school artists.
Eastham's drawing (pictured at right) along with the other artwork for the exhibit were selected after the portfolio scoring. A group of high school and college art educators with extensive experience in the AP® Studio Art program made the selections. Each work was selected because it represents the extremely high level of rigor, commitment, and accomplishment that AP® Studio Art students can achieve.
The AP® Studio Art Exhibit premiered at the group's annual conference in San Antonio, Texas, on July 15, 2009. The full exhibit will be displayed at the Brodsky Gallery of the Chauncey Conference Center on the campus of Educational Testing Service in Princeton, New Jersey, in August; the Lake Wales Arts Center in Lake Wales, Florida, in September; Gallery 37 in Chicago, in November; the gallery of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas, in January 2010; and the National Art Education Association Annual Conference in Baltimore, in April.
