On Tuesday, September 1, 2009, the American Red Cross held a blood drive in memory of Vernon Newsom at Mansfield Legacy High School.
The blood drive ran from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Red Cross mobile donation unit which was parked on the East side of the campus near the Performing Arts Center.
