A letter was distributed Wednesday, May 20, to parents of students attending Legacy High School regarding a positive case of Tuberculosis (TB). The letter explains that Mansfield ISD was notified by the Tarrant County Public Health Department (TCPHD) of a student from Legacy High School who was positively diagnosed with Tuberculosis (TB.) The Health Department has partnered with the District to help identify potential contacts and provide the appropriate screening and care.
Since significant exposure to TB is required in order to develop an infection, only students who had close contact with the student will be screened by the Health Department.
These students have been identified by district health officials and received separate notification along with a parental permission form for screening.
The health and safety of our students is a top priority and we are doing everything possible to address the situation in cooperation with the Health Department. If you have additional questions, please contact the TCPHD at 817-321-4900.
Any updated information will be posted here.
